
MEET PAUL TORRES
Paul Torres is a proud Bryan resident, public servant, and community advocate dedicated to strengthening the city he has called home for decades. A resident of the Bryan–College Station area since 1979 and a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M University, Paul currently serves as the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Manager for the Brazos County Health District. In this role, he works to engage, educate, and train the Brazos County community and its partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emerging public health threats.
Paul proudly serves as a City of Bryan Councilmember for single-member district 1, where he focuses on practical solutions that improve everyday life for residents. During his time on council, he has helped advance important infrastructure improvements throughout his district, including enhanced neighborhood lighting, the installation of pedestrian safety and speed limit signage, and beautification efforts that help preserve the character and pride of Bryan’s District 1 neighborhoods.
Deeply committed to community service, Paul is an active member of many local organizations including the Hispanic Forum of Bryan/College Station Board, Amigos del Valle Board, Medical Reserve Corps, Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Board, Intergovernmental Committee, Homeland Security Advisory Committee, City of Bryan Quiet Zone Board, Bryan Youth Sports Association Board, Brazos County A&M Club member, Legislative Affairs Committee. He is passionate about building strong partnerships and fostering collaboration to ensure Bryan continues to grow while maintaining the values and community spirit that make it special.
Paul and his wife, a lifelong Bryan resident, are proud parents of their son Benjamin, who is a college baseball player. When he’s not serving the community, Paul enjoys spending time with family and playing golf.
